Simply getting yourself and your family away from the everyday life can become addictive
You can buy caravans, pop-up camper trailers and tents, anything from the four room tents to very compact pop ups for your adventure.
It’s a matter of choice, comfort and what you can afford. If you aren’t a regular camper and don’t yet own any equipment, it is best to start out with a average size and price tent which is big enough to fit your family. A 6 person tent is usually comfortable for 3-4 persons. a price of a family tent starts at about $100 for a smaller one and several hundred for a larger tent.
Other basic equipment you will need for camping is, sleeping bags, mattresses, table, chairs, gas light or rechargable led light, cooking stove, first-aid kit, cooler/fridge for food and drinks also clothing which suits the weather you will be camping in.
Before you start camping try all your equipment at home before going to the campsite.
It is much better to know how to set up your tent and equipment before you leave, its no fun trying to workout how when you arrive at your destination. This also is a way of checking everything works. If your kids are uneasy at the idea of sleeping outdoors in the tent for the first time, set the tent up in the backyard where they feel secure and they will get used to outside sounds and make it an adventure.
