Camping is a cheap way to have a holiday and a great alternative when your budget is tight and you really want to get away for a break or holiday, maybe just for the weekend or for weeks. You can go camping for a whole week for less than a weekend at a tourist destination.

Camping is one of the most popular family activities where you can get together and enjoy each other’s company and do many outdoor activities like going for walks, cycling, swimming, fishing, cooking on the campfire, sitting around the campfire at night, watching the night sky, bird and wildlife watching, discovering the area’s history and much more.

A great thing about camping is that once you have purchased your initial camping equipment there is little ongoing expenses, then all you need to do is buy the food required and you need the fuel to get there.  If you choose to camp closer to home you will use less fuel so it will be cheaper.

There is many ways to camp which makes it attractive to budget travellers and families. Camping can be anything from tenting, staying in a cabin and any of the RV’s available which range from a camper trailer to a motorhome.

Before you go camping ask some information about the campground or check online, find out what amenities are available and if it’s a busy campground you may need to book ahead.

Have you any more suggestions for ways to have a cheap camping holiday?
