Staying dry and comfortable when and holidaying is very important; it can be the difference between having a great holiday or an ordinary one. For new campers it would be best to try and go in the mild weather, not too hot or cold. Experienced campers will be able to cope with the all seasons weather much better.

The clothing you take is an important element of your or holiday. Make sure you bring enough to cope with a variety of weather conditions, just in case the weather report is not quite right. Wearing layers of clothes is the best, it will usually be cool in the mornings, take layers off as the days warms up and put them back on when it cools down for the evening. Pack a complete set of clothes in a separate plastic bag in the bottom of your case/bag so you have a clean set for an outing or emergency.

Here is some suggestions for clothing to pack, make sure your clothing is comfortable and it’s a big help if you some have clothes that don’t get crushed when packed.

Long pants & shorts

Long & short sleeve shirts, T-shirts, long sleeve T-shirts

Swimming bathers / togs / Shorts

Jumpers / windcheater

Pyjamas or a comfortable track suit

Thermal leggings, shirt, socks, gloves, scarf

Sun cap or hat, warm hat or beanie

Wet weather gear, rain coat / jacket or disposable poncho with hood

Thick / thin socks, under wear

Walking boots, runners, sandals, thongs

Old pair of shoes if you are going to be walking in water or mud

Slippers, moccasins or Ugg Boots for comfort around camp

The clothes you take will obviously depending on what type of you are doing and where you are going. If you are going to Northern Australia it will be warmer and will only need light clothing and a lightweight raincoat just in case. If you are or hiking in the mountains them you will need thermal wear and complete snow gear.

If you plan to go hiking long pants and a long sleeve shirt made of a light fabric is better than wearing shorts and a T-shirt. This will protect you from getting sunburnt, scratched as you pass by bushes and will protect you from insects.

Enjoy your trip be prepared in every way and you will enjoy the great outdoors.
