I am at present in Albany WA and must comment on the inhospitality via the local Rangers towards tourists, both International and National, there are a great many older people who have taken the choice of selling up and travelling.
Many of us older generation have found a union with the younger generation who also “free camp” accross Australia, we have also found a many “local Laws” accross Australia detrimental to the elderly and younger generation when it comes to “free camping”.
The International Tourist takes back home to their country either a negative or positive report regards Australia in regards to the hospitality offered to them whilst here, and from what has been offered in Albany and the South West of WA it has not been good news.
The Albany Rangers have threatened many tourists with fines for parking in a public place so as to have meals in a group, we often meet at one place and gather news from each other regarding places visited during the day etc, I do believe we owe the International Tourist a courtesy for choosing to visit Australia, especailly places such as Albany, Esperance and Bunbury which most West Australians never take the time to visit.
We owe the tourist a great deal in any respect wether they be National or International, they keep the economy going and offer a voice of opinion of certain areas so as to attract others to visit, what would any town or city be without a tourist? how would it look for the tourist and traveller to bypass a town or city due to negative feedback?
