If you organize your meals before you go, you will be able to prepare your meals quicker

Freeze meat before putting in fridge or cooler, this will keep  other food or drinks cooler for longer

Be careful with gas bottles keep them in a ventilated area and turn off when not being used

Using block ice instead of crushed ice will last longer. Using both works well, put block ice in bottom of cooler and add drinks etc and cover with crushed ice

When cooking outside cover your pots so that dirt, ash or insects can’t get in your food. Your food will also cook quicker if it is covered

Keep all food stored away so you don’t invite animals to visit, especially overnight and while you are away from camp during the day

Have your fresh meat vacuum sealed or kryovacced by a butcher so that it won’t ooze in your fridge or cooler. Also your meat will keep for at least a month in the fridge or cooler

Using cooking oil on your pans or grill will keep food from sticking and help with the clean up

Use pita or mountain type bread for quick lunches, add any filling you like and roll up and heat slightly if filling is suitable

There is a great range of quick cook foods in packets, cans etc

Take a heat proof glove for handling hot pots & pans

Use firelighters for starting the campfire easily

Keep matches in a waterproof bag or container

Have a bottle of liquid hand wash instead of using a cake of soap

Use ziplock bags for small amounts of rice, flour etc. Ingredients can be pre measured and placed in ziplocks bags. ready to use.

Put a large pot of water near the fire to heat water for the dishes
