You have done all the planning and preparation now comes the exciting bit, driving to your campground for your camping adventure.
You have chosen the campground and you are nearly ready to go. If you have been there before obviously you know where it is, if you haven’t been to the campground or the area before, you are going to need a map or directions. Finding your destination can be done several ways.
- If you have booked a campsite or have contacted the campground, Holiday Park etc they may have sent you a brochure with a basic map or a mud map, it will have the exact street address. The map will usually show a close up view of the surrounding streets and a town overview
- The internet has many mapping systems like Google Maps, print a map to take with you
- Many campgrounds, Holidays Parks and destinations have their own website. Do a search for it. They may provide detailed instructions or at least a map to print
- Use a GPS system, some cars have it built in or there is the more common portable ones that stick to your windscreen or dashboard. GPS is good but not perfect always carry a roadmap with you for backup
- Mobile phones can also access the internet for mapping
All these methods are good but not perfect, so if you think it’s necessary take a street or road map as well, make sure it is up to date. No point using a map that’s ten years old, especially in large towns & cities.
Good Luck finding your campground, Holiday Park, motel etc have a great adventure and enjoy the experience of the great outdoors.
