Dogs love going to the beach and their owners love it too, but dogs are not welcome at all beaches. Check signs and obey the rules stated before you take your dog onto the beach. Keep your dog on a leash at all times if required.
- Some beaches may allow dogs to be off the lead, if so make sure your dog has obedience training and it will obey your commands. Nobody likes a dog running loose and uncontrollable especially when children are nearby.
- Be a responsible dog owner and make sure you bring dog poop bag and clean up after your dog
- Fines maybe be imposed on owners who do not control their dogs, if councils get too many complaints about dogs on the beach they may close the beach to dogs. So set an example to other dog owners and do the right thing
- Don’t let your dog be a pest in anyway, keep it away from people, other dogs etc
- Don’t let your wet dog shake over beach visitors
- Visit the beach when it’s quieter in the early morning or evening to avoid the crowds
