A great way to create a treasure trove of memories in the great outdoors is to go camping, holidaying or travelling. Whether you camp or holiday in your favourite place and meet up with a group of families each time or you go somewhere different each time it creates wonderful memories. There is no limit to the different places you can go to and activities you can enjoy.

We have been camping for about 25 years we have all sorts of memories of he unusual, not so good, funny and some special things that happened, Here are a few.

  • When our 3rd son went on his first camping trip he was about 9 months old and crawling around,,,, I had the ‘brilliant’ idea of sewing a floor into screen tent so he could play in there safely. For a start sewing the floor into the screen was a massive job, eventually I finished and it worked very well. So we took it camping, this time we were going to Lake Eildon and at the time we had a small pop up camper. We had 3 days there, we setup the screen tent and it was great….until it rained all the water was trapped……swimming pool….
  • About 20 years ago….my husband and mates went pig shooting sometimes while camping…….we were sitting down for lunch out in the middle of the bush near a river and three little pigs ran past….you should have seen the scramble,,,, the three little pigs won they ran far far away.
  • In 2000 we went on our ‘First Big Trip’ from Victoria to the ‘Top End’ and back. When we camped at Ayers Rock campground, we camped next to a wonderful family from Sydney and we travelled the next 10 days with them around Central Australia. We have met up with them every year since.
