Free Camping is when you camp and don’t have to pay fees, bush camping is a very good example. Also roadside stops, State reserves and there is many areas throughout Australia that are free.
Here are some advantages of using ‘free camping’ campgrounds.
- Most free campgrounds have plenty of room and you can choose where you want to camp as there is no designated marked out sites
- Most likely you can enjoy Campfire every night, providing firewood is available
- Stay in campgrounds that few people are able to visit because of its remoteness
- Caravan parks are usually located in towns, free camping grounds are better if you are interested in observing & photographing wildlife, nature and landscapes, sunsets and sunrises
- Usually you will get away from the crowds
- Saving money rather than paying for Caravan or Tourist park fees
- You maybe be able to use generator if does not disturb other campers, if there is any other campers
- At Most free camps you can usually take pets
Only ‘Free Camp’ where it is legal, not on private property unless you have permission. Take notice of ’No Camping’ Signs.
National Parks aren’t quite free, they ask for a small fee each night. Which is well worth it as they have basic amenities and you will have access to some amazing views and locations.
