There are many styles of camping, anything from roughing it in a small tent to the luxury of a 5th Wheeler. All types of camping are very popular and they have there advantages and disadvantages.

Tenting   If you don’t want to abandon all modern conveniences, you can set up your tent and camp at a campground. Camp grounds vary a lot in what they offer you, some are very basic and in a bush setting like a National Park, then there is the four star Holiday Parks that provide you with every convenience.

Cabins   Cabins in Holiday Parks is another way to go camping, they are excellent for the one night stays so you don’t have to drag out all your bedding, utensils etc or they are terrific for several weeks also. Holiday Parks usually have pools and all facilities, may have mini golf, games room and more.

Caravans   The choices of caravans is amazing, if you’re in the market for one have a good look around to find one that suits you needs and price range. Caravans do limit your travels to the sealed roads. If you have a 4WD vehicle and a normal caravan you can leave the caravan in storage at a holiday park for a few days and take off in the 4WD with some basic camping equipment and supplies.

Camper Trailers   There is an amazing range of camper trailers.

One style is the pop up and out style; the beds are in the pop out ends also Includes kitchen and dining area. When packed they are fairly compact depending on what size you purchase.

The other style is a smaller trailer with a tent attached to the top and the fold over and opens up. You still have some conveniences with you depending on the type of camper trailer. They can start from about $4000 for a flip over canvas style up to $50,000 or more for the fibreglass 4wd models.

Large RVs   Some campers choose to have an recreational vehicle like a 5th wheeler, which are very convenient, pack up and go and tow your bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom etc with you. But not every one wants to tow such a large vehicle and would prefer to be in the outdoors more, that is where camper trailers fit in.
